FW: School Of Worship 2009

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2009-2010 Calvary Chapel School of Worship Program. The Calvary Chapel School of Worship is a nine- month certification program developed to train those who believe God is calling them into the music ministry.

Our mission at the S.O.W. is to provide an encouraging environment for each student to become both spiritual mature and musically capable in their gift and calling. Through the faithful teaching of the Word of God from seasoned pastors, and practical instruction by gifted musicians, we hope to be a ministry that will serve to encourage, equip, and develop the gifts of the individual who believes God is calling them to the worship ministry.

One of the greatest needs in the local church as well as ministries abroad are spiritually mature worship leaders with a heart to serve, that can be a blessing to an established church or planting ministry. We realize that there are not many opportunities to be trained in this way, so we are offering classes that we believe will be beneficial in preparing the student to answer God's call to this ministry.

To give you an idea of what classes are offered during the course of the year, we have listed many of them below.

Some of the lecture classes that will be taught this year include:

Calvary Distinctives taught by Pastor Church Smith, Attributes of God by Pastor Brian Brodersen, Principles of Ministry by John Randall, Theology of Worship by Scott Cunningham, Worship Leader Dynamics by Bill Welsh and Overview of the Bible by Craig Coffin.

Some of the practical classes include:

Music Theory taught by Tim Nienhuis, Songwriting by Evan Wickham, How to Read, Write, and Understand Rhythm by John Ferraro, Vocal Music by Gia Lucid, Sound classes by Chaz Celaya, as well as Worship Team Development by Scott Cunningham . We also offer labs that focus on learning a specific instrument.

We hope that you will take the time to visit our website at schoolofworship.net and should you have any questions please feel free to contact us by email or phone (see below). We are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for this coming school year and would love the opportunity to encourage you in your gifts and calling.

So please pray and consider attending the School of Worship this year, or share this information with anyone you think may be interested. Thank you and God Bless!

Sincerely,

Scott Cunningham
School Of Worship Director
